Abita Light is an all malt lager brewed with pilsner and carapils malts and Vanguard hops.
NOW: Jax Beer is gone, the brand having been sold off in 1974 to the Texas-based Pearl Brewery — now Pabst — which no longer brews it. In 1954, the New Orleans Jax bought exclusive rights to the name from the Florida brewer.

New Orleans Municipal Code Sec. 54-404 allows anyone to carry an open container of alcohol in the New Orleans French Quarter on the public streets, sidewalks, parks, or public rights-of-way as long as the container is not an opened glass container . The state of Louisiana has an open container law.

The Abita Brewing Company is a brewery in Covington, Louisiana, USA, 43 miles (69 km) north of New Orleans. Abita was founded by Jim Patton and Rush Cumming in 1986, in downtown Abita Springs, Louisiana. The original location is now the Abita Brew Pub.
Hop 99 is one of the first of this emerging low-calorie, low-carbohydrate IPA style. Mosaic and Citra hops are loaded into Hop 99 to give it a big hop flavor, while pale malts give it a light body and crisp finish.
Abita Andygator ®, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pilsner malt , German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator® is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma.
