Witbier. Witbier, white beer , bière blanche, or simply witte is a barley/wheat, top-fermented beer brewed mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands. It gets its name due to suspended yeast and wheat proteins, which cause the beer to look hazy, or white , when cold.
Shock Top is an easy 4th choice as an IPA and perhaps the top Whitbier, it is an excellent value. Shock Top is far more complex than Blue Moon and marvelous on tap. If you like Blue Moon you will enjoy Shock Top immensely.
Notes: Shock Top Wheat IPA is no traditional beer. It’s a unique hybrid that combines the fresh flavor and smoothness of wheat beer with the crisp hop bitterness of an IPA . The result is a beer that is truly like no other. To serve, pour down the side of the glass until a half inch is left in the bottle.
Don’t Drink: Shock Top Flavored Beers It’s a relatively benign, middle-of-the-road mass-produced wheat beer masquerading as a specialty product ( Shock Top is actually owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev), not quite terrible but also not great.

Shock Top is a 5.2% ABV Belgian-style wheat ale introduced under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat brewed in Fort Collins, Colorado as a seasonal beer in 2006, then all year from 2007. The beer is brewed with wheat malt, two-row barley , orange, lemon, lime peel, coriander and Cascade and Willamette hops.
